JOLT, IL — For not paying its rent while it was shut down due to orders from Governor JB Pritzker prohibiting the operation of health clubs and gyms, the L.A. Fitness at 1745 Route 59 in Joliet was reported last May by the local newspaper Joliet Patch.
A new banner has appeared on the L.A. Fitness building’s roof in recent days. Esporta Fitness, the new name of the Joliet L.A. Fitness, can be seen on yet another sign near Route 59, warning drivers of the change in name.
It appears that the Route 59 location in Joliet, Illinois is packed with amenities, including racquetball courts and basketball courts, aerobics rooms and even a whirlpool spa, sauna, and indoor pool. There is also a kid’s club as well as a cycling room and a juice bar.
The L.A. Fitness company’s website includes the following details: “17 LA Fitness locations in the greater Phoenix area will be renamed Esporta Fitness as of January 1, 2022. Some of these clubs may have new signage on the outside; on the inside, new colours, graphics, and club layouts designed to emphasise functional training will be seen. This rebranding, however, will not alter your membership benefits or cost.”
According to the Esporta Fitness website, an online membership deal is currently being offered. Customers can choose between a $99 initiation fee and a monthly fee of $9.99 or a $49 initiation fee and a monthly fee of $19.99. Both options are available to them.
